The Corinthia Hotel Apartments in Whitehall Place was the venue for the 7th edition of the Russian Art Week, which opened in spectacular style yesterday 27th November 2015 in one of the apartments valued at £15 million.
Knight Frank Estate Agents, Bonham's Auction House were the sponsors of this magnificent event. Remy Martin offered their exceptional Louis XIII Cognac, presented in Baccarat crystal bottles that sell at £25,000 each.
In what promises to be a stunning week of events, it is likely that the highlight will be performances of Tchaikovsky's ballet The Nutcracker and his opera Eugene Onegin at The Royal Opera House in Covent Garden. This event will of course be a magnificent ambassador for Russian art and culture in London.
The Gagliardi Gallery, on King's Road in London, was selected for an extremely impressive opening evening with a magnificent display of paintings which won high praise from all who where present.
A recent analysis of investment behaviour by Bonham's Auction House has revealed an interesting trend towards a preference for alternative assets such as artworks. It is thought that younger investors drive this trend and are motivated not purely by business acumen but also a passion for the artwork itself. The Gagliardi Gallery are fully aware of this development, having been on the frontline of the ever-evolving art market for almost 40 years.
This week’s series of events promises to be a truly fascinating and diverse affair. One which will present a unique opportunity to sample all the rich and succulent delights that Russian culture has to offer.
